S. A. Ravindranath

S. A. Ravindranath (born November 11, 1964) is an Indian politician born in Shiramagondanahalli-Davangere District in Karnataka state. He represents Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Davangere North in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He won the May 2008 Karnataka elections with the largest margin of over 53,000 votes against his nearest rival. He was sworn-in as the Cabinet minister in the recent Yeduyurappa government on May 30, 2008. He is the Agriculture minister in the Yeduyurappa Government.

Career

He has been elected to Karnataka Legislative Assembly for four consecutive times. He was elected as MLA from Mayakonda constituency for three times consecutively and is elected from Davanagere North the 4th time and 1st time from this new constituency. He was the minister of sugar and Rural water supply in the BJP-JD(s) coalition for 20 months. He is also the minister in charge of the BJP for the Davangere district. He also brought the BJP to power in the Davangere corporation for the first time in 2007 with an overwhelming majority.[1][2]
